Do we follow the Golden Rule?
I'm new to blogging but am quite the follower of many blogs! Thanks Ladies!! What an inspiration!!
I want to share things with followers that God gives to me to share, not only scripture or food for thought, but also ways to SAVE money and become good stewards of money!! I never want couponing or saving money to become my idol but I absolutely love to save a dollar or get things for FREE!! I'm trying to be as Frugal and Environmental-friendly as I can be. I've been showing my friends and family on Facebook and have SO much excitement to hear them say, "WOW, I want to do that too!" I also post daily on Facebook bible verses to share with others that enjoy it! So, I thought what other way then start blogging too! I'm also a nurse that I feel I can offer so additional information to help followers!
I am far from perfect (and you really think any human is??) and need to go to the CROSS daily and ask the Lord, "what is it you want me to do for YOU today?" So many people forget to ask the Lord what he wants us to do and actually think selfishly for God to help them with the things they think they should be doing or desperately need. I've been guilty myself. I think back often, especially with being kinda OCD with cleaning and organization, that I just don't want any distractions today. Guess what I got with that mentality? DISTRACTIONS!!! Then only to feel anxious and overwhelmed, thinking "I don't have time for this!!!" God has shown me, that sometimes the way we think our day is going to be or what all we are going to mark off of our to-do list today, may not be reality. We really NEED to seize those opportunities to say, "OK God, you really want me to do this today instead. I will be a good and faithful servant and do just THAT! Praise be to God!!!! He works on his time and divine plan and not ours!!!!!
The Lord placed this verse in my hand's regarding the "Golden Rule" and gave me much to think about today!

Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Add up God's Law and Prophets and this is what you get.

I hope the Golden Rule is everyone's rule because it is the Lord's! Sometimes it is very hard to keep the Golden Rule when we are faced with all life has to bring and it may seem impossible but it is not! Please start now by practicing the Golden Rule and waking up every morning to ask God what he wants you to do today, it may suprise you! Hence, treat others as you would like to be treated.
Today, I spent the day thoroughly cleaning my ill mother-in-law's house. I had the best intentions to do the entire house for her, but today only allowed one major room. I expect nothing in return just hopes that it will make her feel better just knowing 1) I care 2) she's special to me and God and, 3) she doesn't have to worry about doing it when she doesn't feel like doing it! I know how I felt when I've looked around at my house when I've been sick to only feel even worse and think geez I wish someone would come and clean this mess for me or I could be a jeannie and blink my eyes and it would be done. Just think how much more I could really relax and work on healing! Can anyone relate? Go out today and let God use you to be that "something special" to someone in need and expect nothing in return but thankful that God allowed the opportunity! May God Bless you ALL!
